THC projects are significant not only in their revitalization of neighborhoods, but more importantly their ability to impact the community residents and businesses with economic development opportunities that far exceed the physical changes that take place.
To capture the projects true potential, efforts must be made to integrate the re-development experience into all segments of the community. The project’s purpose therefore must be carefully communicated to the broadest audience in order to insure that it is embraced by all members of the community as a means of ensuring diverse community involvement. One of the prime goals of THC and its business partners is to create business and employment opportunities accessible to the broadest spectrum of the communities that we work in.
To be able to improve the life skills and self sufficiency of community residents and provide them with training and employment opportunities that they would otherwise not have been afforded is even more rewarding than looking at the new buildings and communities that we develop. Building up people’s lives and their futures is our privilege and we do not take it lightly.

Minority/Women Owned Business & Resident Participation
THC’s basic objective in developing and implementing a M/WBE business plan is to promote utilization of M/WBEs as well as promote employment of minorities and women in all job classifications. Therefore procedures are designed to seek out and encourage participation by qualified and certified M/WBEs in the development of the project. Our goal is not just meeting the basic requirements. We seek to build capacity and grow the potential of people and smaller businesses that work with us.
THC has exceeded M/WBE and resident hiring requirements in every project we have ever undertaken. As a 100% minority-owned concern, THC’s philosophy is to bolster M/WBE businesses by bringing them as key players in its projects wherever possible. Doing what it takes to include M/WBE firms and hiring local residents for its projects, especially newcomers, has been both THC’s responsibility and pleasure.
The THC Team values the powerful message that the presence of minority businesses sends to local residents, particularly public housing residents and young people — the message that minorities can and do play a vital, financially rewarding role in their city’s economy.
We are uniquely qualified to achieve superior levels of minority and women participation because of our composition and ability to draw upon the reserve of talent we have employed over decades of development.
