A former public housing site of 330 barracks style dilapidated homes on a twenty-acre hillside along Benning Road in Southeast D.C., THC and its partner, A&R Development were selected to redevelop the site. DCHA and the THC team were awarded a $20 Million HOPE VI grant in June, 2004 that redeveloped the site as single family homes. A 100 Unit Senior Building (Triangle View) was completed at the intersection of Anacostia, Ridge and B Street, S.E. in November, 2006. The former 17-acre public housing site, located at the intersection of Benning Road, Fitch Street, 51st Street, Queen’s Stroll and F Street, SE, has been revitalized into a new mixed-income community. The construction of this $45 Million family housing community produced 211 mixed income, mixed tenure units (150 of homeownership and 61 rental units). All homes were sold as of 2014.
